Possible Use in Multimedia

Abstract
This thesis investigates the many types of acoustic phenomena and the affects they
can have on people, with a view to their possible use in multimedia. In particular, it scrutinises
all aspects of binaural beats, infrasound and acoustic weapons to determine the true effects
they can have on people. Throughout this thesis, examples are given where multimedia has
benefited from these acoustic phenomena, and it gives further suggestions for their use in both
practical and artistic applications of multimedia.
