New site: Rate my isp

// October 29th, 2008 // 8 Comments » // web, web design

I’m definitely like a bus when it comes to blogging, have been quiet for a while and then 3 posts today. All my free time in the last week or so have been spent on building a new site: www.ratemyisp.ie. Our broadband isn’t great at all, so instead of asking the most frequently asked question on the Internet (in Ireland at least) I built a site. Was very surprised to find it didn’t exist yet. I’m quite often pipped to the post on a lot of ideas I have.

It’s still kind of in beta mode. I might completely change the homepage. And I might add a mobile broadband section. Any feedback appreciated. But I’d love if you could take a minute or two to add to the ratings and also spread the word.

No comment!

Oooh I love a bit of irony with my cornflakes. Blogger have a blog post about making comments easier. I went to leave a comment on it but comments were disabled! I turned on this new feature on my blog…to make comments easier. So now the comments are on the same page as the post, not a separate page, and there are a few other useful options.

But they’ve overwritten my favicon. A favicon is little icon in the address bar. Before this update my favicon was a little cartoon icon of my head but now it’s a blogger icon. My lovely little head is still on any other page of my site, just not the blog. I’ve got a big ugly blogger icon. So, I went to leave a comment on their making it easy to comment post, but couldn’t, and the irony just blew my mind so much that I just had to share it with the world!

Update: I’ve switched back. Someone mailed me to say they couldn’t leave a comment. I’ll wait until blogger have ironed out the bugs.

Save a school

I’m a bit late on this one. Exquisite bloggeress k8 the Gr8 is looking for your help. St. Catherine’s, a school for children with various disabilities, is a complete life saver for many parents and it’s about to get swept under the carpet as another economic fatality. For as little as a fiver a month you could help save it. And as we measure all deeds; that’s only one pint less in the month. Read all about it at K8’s Cackaloo.
