Arrived home on Friday to find that junior had beent treated to some plasticine. And as ever I had more fun with his toys than he did…

Had a quick go at some clay animation too. Always wanted to have a go at that. Dying to get a bit of time to give it a proper go though…

haha! Cool stuff John. For some reason I have the theme song of Mio Mao running through my head :D

  2. mary says:

    Very good!

  3. John Braine says:

    Thanks Mary and Claire!

I youtubed Mio Mao. Lot’s of inspiration for my next attempt!

I’d actually spent ages making a cyclops that I was going to try and make fight with another monster. But James stood on the cyclops so that was the end of that.

    Cheers!

    That animation is quite impressive.

Even the word Mala brings me right back. I had a tendency to eat it though.

  5. Simon says:

    Wow, thats very good!

  6. Thriftcriminal says:

    Good job!

  7. John Braine says:

Hi Xbox, Simon and Thrifty, thanks! It really is much easier than you think. The only hard part is clicking the camera without moving it.

B, I loved Morph and Tony Hart was a legend.

  8. Roy, Dublin Taxi Driver says:

Excellent! apart from the fanny should have been there when it fell over , fannys don’t just appear!

  9. B says:

Oh there’s some great morph gifs there!

  10. John Braine says:

Duly noted Roy! All characters will henceforth have full genitalia on display from the outset.

  11. Darren says:

Very cool – well done. Might give this a go myself. Did it take long?

  12. John Braine says:

Hi Darren. No not long to do the animation at all. Was messing around with different characters for a while and remaking them. Then I just grabbed that one, stuck it on the window sill and click click click. Was done taking the photos in a few minutes. Didn’t really think about what I was doing. Bet i’ll think too much about my next one and never actually do it!

On the computer I had to do a lot of cropping but once I got it right I just did an action in photoshop.

In Flash when you import a photo that’s obviously part of a sequence, it automatically imports everything into a new frame. So very quick. You could use a gif animator too.

So it was all quick enough.

Nice job, a man of many talents!

  14. flossyla says:

hey thats cool. I wish I had had mala that moved around when I was a kid!

  15. Red Mum says:

thats brilliant. I’ve been thinking about doing some messing like this myself, and had thought of dolls or such like.

Unfortunately 16-year-olds have a sh*t collection of such things.

    This is great.
